ST. FRANCIS CELEBRATION AND OCTOBER MONTH OF SERVICE
It was while living with and serving the lepers and poor that St. Francis of Assisi saw the face of God most clearly. Since then, service to the poor and the outsiders is at the heart of what it means to be a Franciscan Community. To celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi this year, we are encouraging everyone to participate in at least one act of service during the month of October. Below is a list of opportunities to serve along side fellow parishioners! Find something that speaks to your heart, and in the humble Spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare, serve your neighbor or community. The Peace Prayer reminds us that “It is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” May we serve willingly, give generously, and receive with glad hearts the blessing of our Holy Father, St. Francis of Assisi!
